did Buddha boast?

Question:
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20130217115914AA8FbWS

If Buddha was human in popular history, did he boast?

The popular Buddhist history states something like:
"Siddhartha Gotama, the historical Buddha, was an actual man born in India 2500 years ago."

If Buddhist Dhamma is preached/accepted by Buddha, the said Dhamma states 'The Nine Special Qualities of the Buddha'.

Boasting means, talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.

If Buddha was a man, did he do self admiring by any means?

Additional Details

@Cleo,
Irrespective of popular mundane history, should Buddha be viewed through Dhamma, as the Doctor to cure the existence of five clinging aggregates 'sabbe saththa bhawanthu sukhithathta'?
If so, the boasting argument in this question would not be valid.
