Does power sequence deliberately fake zero?

This question extends the previous:
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind…

Consider following power sequence, for example:

... , 7^(-2) , 7^(-1) , 7^(0) , 7^(1) , 7^(2) , ...

Now, 7^(0) = 7/7 = 1
Look how zero vanishes at power of zero in the same sequence:

... , 1/(7^2) , 1/(7^1) , (7^1)/(7^1) , (7^1)/1 , (7^2)/1 , ...

No zero exponent (or index or power).

Does mathematics fake zero for some (untold) reason?
Why?
