It is a selfish attempt of the western education system to distort obvious information.

Additional Details

@Andrew Hudson,
Like or not, there is a self centered view with no gratitude in the aforesaid material.

It would be more decent to say that John Pell studied or Pell's equation was based on Bhaskaracharya's work, at least to honor one of the pioneers of mathematics who introduced zero.

Western egoists have being plagiarizing (copy cat) or simply looting the Asian knowledge for a long time without correctly mentioning the root sources. I can reference many examples.

"Bhaskaracharya studied Pell's equation ..." is a false statement.

"There is no doubt that the equation had been studied in depth for hundreds of years before Pell was born. In fact the first contribution by Brahmagupta was made around 1000 years before Pell's time and it is with Brahmagupta's contribution that we begin our historical study. "
